After a commanding 5-1 victory over Latvia and a thrilling 6-3 win against Denmark, the United States is now ready to take on Germany, the final challenge of the preliminary round for the 2026 Olympic Games.
Germany kicked off their tournament with a 3-1 win over Denmark but faced a setback, losing 4-3 to Latvia in their second match.
The U.S. currently leads Group C with a total of six points. The top team from each group will receive a bye into the tournament’s quarterfinals, which start on Wednesday.
Nine players have contributed to the U.S. goal tally so far, including Brady Tkachuk (2), Brock Nelson (2), as well as Tage Thompson, Auston Matthews, Matt Boldy, Jack Eichel, Noah Hanifin, Jake Guentzel, and Jack Hughes.
