The second Sunday of the 2026 Winter Olympics is an exciting day for Team USA fans.
Mikaela Shiffrin competes in the giant slalom, the event she claimed victory in at the 2018 Olympics, giving her a second opportunity for a medal in Milan Cortina. This is also the event where she faced a serious injury due to a puncture wound in 2024. Shiffrin has battled PTSD from that incident, and her participation in Olympic giant slalom marks an important step in her comeback. Speedskater Erin Jackson will seek to defend her gold medal in the 500 meters. Pairs figure skating kicks off, featuring the top American duo, Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea. They delivered impressive performances to help the U.S. secure gold in the team event, and now they have a chance at a medal. plus, the U.S. men’s hockey team will face off against Germany.
