The Milan Cortina Olympics progressed on Tuesday, featuring skier Mikaela Shiffrin’s first event of the Games, alongside the U.S. women’s hockey team taking on their rivals, Canada.
Shiffrin, alongside teammate Breezy Johnson — who clinched gold in downhill on Sunday — narrowly missed out on the medals in their combined downhill run. For the U.S., Paula Moltzan and Jackie Wiles secured a bronze in that event.
In women’s hockey, Team USA triumphed over longtime rival Canada, netting goals in all three periods for a remarkable 5-0 victory. This win improved the U.S.’s record to 4-0 at the Games, concluding a perfect group stage.
also, “Quad God” and gold medal contender Ilia Malinin took to the ice for the first night of men’s competition in the short program.
