Aurelio De Laurentiis to Bow Napoli Soccer Doc in U.S.

Aurelio De Laurentiis to Bow Napoli Soccer Doc in U.S.

Italian producer Aurelio De Laurentiis, nephew of late great movie mogul Dino De Laurentiis, on Thursday will host the U.S. premiere of “Ag4in” a doc chronicling the SSC Napoli soccer club’s 2025 fourth Italian Serie A championship victory.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is set to attend the gala event at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

The gala, which will honor De Laurentiis, who is president of SSC Napoli, for his entrepreneurial achievements in film and sport, will bring together prominent personalities from the Los Angeles soccer community, professional athletes, Hollywood figures, and special guests “for a celebration of the sport and its growing influence ahead of the FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games in Los Angeles,” according to a statement.

De Laurentiis branched out from movies into sports 22 years ago in 2004 by purchasing the SSC Napoli soccer club, saving it from bankruptcy. Napoli’s legacy has been defined by some of the most iconic players in the history of the game, first and foremost Diego Maradona, whose time at the club – between 1984 and 1991 – helped elevate Napoli into one of soccer’s most celebrated institutions.

The “Ag4in” doc, which De Laurentiis produced, provides an insider’s view of how the club, led by coach Antonio Conte, overcame a series of obstacles to conquer the 2025 Serie A title – it’s fourth championship victory, and the second one under De Laurentiis’ management – and how the city of Naples responded with an unprecedented celebration.

The screening will be followed by a conversation on the growth of the game of soccer in the United States and Los Angeles’ emerging role as a major soccer capital, the statement said.

“Napoli is not just a football club — it is a symbol of identity, passion, and belief,” De Laurentiis commented.

“Bringing this story to Los Angeles at a time when the world of soccer is turning its eyes to the city is both a celebration of what we’ve achieved and an invitation to be part of what comes next.”
