Eva Longoria and the team behind Amazon Prime Video’s “The House of the Spirits” will be among the notable multihyphenates, actors, writers and producers who are set to take part in the National Association of Latino Independent Producers’ Diverse Women in Media Forum, set for May 1 in Hollywood.
Longoria is co-founder and chief creative officer of of Hyphenate Media Group and an executive producer of “House of the Spirits,” which debuts today. It’s the first Spanish-language film adaptation of the beloved 1982 novel by Isabel Allende.
“I’m proud to join NALIP’s Diverse Women in Media Forum and support an organization that champions mentorship, access, and connection,” Longoria said. “Bringing this extraordinary book to life and honoring Isabel Allende by telling it in Spanish with a multinational Latino cast and creatives behind the camera is exactly why we do what we do at Hyphenate.”
The forum will showcase top creatives and offer discussions about storytelling opportunities. It will also offer sessions and networking around behind-the-scenes activities ranging from executive coaching to financing to the technology that is radically changing how movies and TV shows are producted.
“The Diverse Women in Media Forum is about access, opportunity, and leadership,” said Diana
Luna, Executive Director of NALIP. “It brings together voices across film, television, and media who
are shaping how stories are developed, financed, and scaled in today’s global marketplace. The
Forum recognizes those who are opening pathways for others across a wide range of backgrounds
and approaches, expanding how stories are built and experienced across formats. That momentum
is made possible by partners who understand that investing in a breadth of perspectives leads to
more resonant storytelling, broader audiences, and narratives that connect across cultures while
bringing new voices and experiences to life.”
The forum will have a marketplace area featuring such vendors as RIF Care, Vita Parfum, Modern Muze, Tecuane, Youth Dealer, Lil Libros, Valdé Beauty and Marme Hats. Entertainment industry partners for the event include Starz, Disney, Comcast and NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Variety.
