Released on December 19, 2025, David is an epic animated biblical musical that brings the legendary story of the shepherd-turned-king to life with modern CGI. Produced by Sunrise Animation Studios and distributed by Angel Studios, the film serves as a feature-length follow-up to the Young David miniseries.
It is based on the biblical Book of Samuel from the Old Testament. It specifically focuses on the life of David, the young shepherd who eventually becomes the King of Israel.
The film features Phil Wickham as the adult David and Brandon Engman reprising his role as the young one. The supporting cast includes Asim Chaudhry as King Achish, Mick Wingert as Zaydel, and Lauren Daigle as Rebecca, among others. Other notable cast members include Adam Michael Gold as King Saul and Kamran Nikhad as the formidable Goliath.
