“Corbin Carroll is unbelievable,” said Lovullo. “He looks like a small player. He’s not very tall [and] reminds me of Dustin Pedroia. Diamondbacks sign All-Star pitcher Michael Soroka
One of the best teams to find diamonds in the rough, the Diamondbacks made a surprising move by acquiring former All-Star pitcher Michael Soroka. The two sides agreed on a one-year, $7.5 million deal on December 12.
Soroka was a noteworthy pitcher during his time with the Braves after being selected as an All-Star in just his second season with the club. In 2020, he became the youngest Opening Day starter in the team’s modern history at just 22-years-old. After several injuries, however, he was traded to the White Sox in 2023.
The pitcher would bounce around the Nationals and the Cubs in the past two seasons before being signed by the Diamondbacks who are in need of arms in the starting rotation.
