The Los Angeles Lakers have traded for guard Luke Kennard from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for guard Gabe Vincent and a second-round pick in 2032, according to sources reporting to ESPN’s Shams Charania on Thursday.
Kennard is currently enjoying a career-high 49.7% shooting from 3-point range this season, providing the Lakers with a reliable shooter alongside Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and LeBron James.
The Hawks gain an experienced guard, create an $11 million trade exception, and obtain a valuable draft asset.
Kennard, 29, has a career 44.2% shooting rate from beyond the arc. This season, he is averaging 7.9 points over 46 games, marking his ninth year in the NBA.
Vincent, also 29, is recording an average of 4.8 points in his seventh season in the league.
