SAN FRANCISCO — No Spanish? No issue.
In a chat with Apple Music Radio hosts Ebro Darden and Zane Lowe ahead of his Super Bowl LX halftime show this Sunday, Grammy-winning artist Bad Bunny assured fans that understanding his native language isn’t necessary to enjoy the performance.
“It’s gonna be fun and easy,” said the 31-year-old. “Fans only need to focus on dancing… They don’t even need to learn Spanish. The most important thing is to dance from the heart… that’s all they should focus on—having fun, enjoying, and of course, picking a team for the game.”
The Puerto Rican artist, whose full name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was welcomed at the Thursday morning press conference with enthusiastic shouts of “Benito” as he arrived for the pre-Super Bowl event in a gray fur coat, pinstriped gray suit, gray beanie, and oversized sunglasses.

“I want to showcase a lot of my culture on stage, but I don’t want to give away any details,” he noted. “It’s going to be a fun party.”
The global sensation humorously mentioned his intense preparations for the show.
“I’ve been eating smashburgers while thinking about the halftime show at 4 a.m.,” he quipped. “That’s my preparation… Just kidding, I’ve been working out, getting fit. I haven’t even played much dominoes lately, which is driving me crazy.”
This is his first time headlining at the Super Bowl; however, he was part of Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s performance at Super Bowl LIV in Miami. He remained coy about potential surprise guests for this year.
“Of course, I have many guests lined up,” he mentioned. “It’ll be my family, friends, and the entire Latino community that supports me.”
Fresh off winning three Grammys, including Album of the Year for “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,” Bad Bunny highlighted the personal significance of his latest album.
“This is one of the most… special projects I’ve done because it brought me here,” he shared. “I never sought after this—winning Album of the Year at the Grammys or performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. I aimed to connect with my roots and my people more than ever, to engage with myself, my history, and my culture, and I achieved that honestly.”
He emphasized that he’s not driven by the accolades or fame he has received in his career.
“I never sought this,” he asserted. “My greatest joy is to create, enjoy the process, and connect with people. When I release a song and people resonate with it, that’s the best feeling. That’s what I strive for every time I’m in the studio. That’s why I always collaborate with friends; it’s a very intimate environment for me.”
