The Bay Golf Club faced off against Los Angeles Golf Club in an intense TGL match on Monday evening.
Still searching for its first victory of the season, The Bay secured an 11-5 win over Los Angeles, keeping its playoff aspirations alive.
Los Angeles featured Tommy Fleetwood, Sahith Theegala, and Tony Finau, while Justin Rose and Collin Morikawa were inactive. The Bay had Min Woo Lee, Luke Clanton, and Neal Shipley on the roster, while Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark, and Shane Lowry sat out.
Here are the highlights from Monday’s match.

Finau dances the Dougie
Before diving into a competitive match, LA’s Finau opted to unwind. As he approached his first tee shot, he dropped his club and danced the Dougie for the fans present at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Lee delivers a remarkable first shot
After a scoreless beginning through the first two holes, The Bay gained momentum on Hole 3, with Lee nearly scoring a hole-in-one. On his first shot, Lee struck the ball 211 yards, leaving his team just under nine feet from the pin.

Clanton builds on The Bay’s lead
With a 5-3 advantage entering the singles segment of the match, Clanton earned two more points on Hole 5. He positioned his team for victory with a second shot that left The Bay just six feet from the hole, while LA was over 11 feet away. Following an accepted hammer throw for The Bay, Clanton secured the putt, extending the lead to 7-3.

Trailing by two points with only two holes to play, Finau came close to reducing The Bay’s lead on Hole 13. His second shot from 122 yards seemed destined to fall into the hole but veered just to the left, resulting in a tie for that hole.
