Oasis‘ Liam Gallagher has weighed in on his band’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, quipping in classic Gallagher form after several years of scoffing at the institution.
In a series of tweets on X after the Hall of Fame announcement, he began with a simple declaration: “Reverse psychology vibes in the area Oasis RnR hall of farmers I mean famers,” he wrote, referring to inflammatory remarks about their previous two nominations. “I wanna thank all the people who voted for us it’s a real honour ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower I’d dream about 1 day being in the RnR hall of fame it’s true what they say anything is possible if you have a dream.”
so began a series of responses that suggested perhaps his enthusiasm is in jest — or maybe not? “No wonder we had to pay them to induct us,” he wrote in response to one fan who said that they may not have voted for them. As for whether or not they would attend? “Im well going I dreamt of this as a little nobody singing in the shower with my brush.”
After today’s induction announcement, one fan called him a “hypocrite.” “I know rite what a cunt,” he responded.
When Oasis was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the first time in 2024, Liam Gallagher had some spicy words to share on X. “Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS,” he wrote. “I don’t need some wank award by some geriatric in a cowboy hat.” He also told fans that they shouldn’t vote because “as much as it’s appreciated it’s all a load of Bollox.”
He echoed similar sentiments during a 2024 interview with the Sunday Times, stating, “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favour and fuck off. It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be part of anything that mentally disturbed. Besides, I’ve done more for rock’n’roll than half of them clowns on that board, so it’s all a load of bollocks.”
Last year, Liam Gallagher once again weighed in on a potential Oasis induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after a fan account tweeted on X that the band was included in the 2025 nominees list. “RNR hall of fame is for WANKERS,” he wrote in a reply to the post. When another fan asked, “What are you gonna do if you win?” he replied, “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER.”
Oasis’ latest coronation into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame follows a blockbuster reunion tour that kicked off in Cardiff, Wales, and wrapped in São Paulo, Brazil, in November 2025.
