Jan 26: A look at the largest bets placed on Super Bowl LX to date

By Doug Greenberg

The stage is set for Super Bowl LX, where the Seattle Seahawks are favored against the New England Patriots for the coveted Lombardi Trophy. This renowned event in American sports consistently attracts significant bets.

Since summertime, bettors have been eager to speculate about the outcome of this game, with wagers finally being placed by Feb. 8. Below are some of the highest bets recorded so far—categorized by odds, stakes, and potential payouts:

  • In August, a retail bettor at BetMGM in Nevada made three separate $50,000 future bets on the Seahawks, as reported by Yahoo Sports and verified by ESPN. The Seahawks’ playoff bet at +185 brought in $92,500, while their NFC championship win at +2800 yielded $1.4 million. The bettor holds a Seattle Super Bowl ticket at +6000 odds that could payout $3 million if it wins.

  • On Monday, Circa Sports operations director Jeffrey Benson revealed a $1.1 million wager on the Patriots’ money line at +188, which would net close to $2.1 million if New England emerges victorious.

  • DraftKings accepted a $10,000 future bet on the Patriots to win the Super Bowl at +8000 that could result in winnings of $800,000.

  • In November, BetMGM processed a $30,000 wager on New England to win the Super Bowl at +2200, yielding a potential profit of $660,000 if successful.

  • In late August, Circa also took a $100 bet on the exact Super Bowl result being Seahawks over Patriots at an extraordinary 3100-1. If successful, this bet would win $310,000.

  • On Jan. 14, Caesars Sportsbook recorded a $32,000 wager on the Seahawks at +275 odds for potential winnings of $88,000; less than two weeks later, it accepted a $40,000 bet on the Patriots at +260 for an approximate payoff of $104,000.

  • DraftKings also processed a $500 bet on the Seahawks at +65000 for a possible $32,500 payout.

  • At Caesars, a bettor in Nevada placed a $55,000 wager on Patriots +4.5 (-108) for an estimated $51,000 win, while another in New Jersey bet $36,000 on Seahawks -4.5 (-109) for a potential $33,000 win, as reported by the sportsbook’s football head Joey Feazel, who noted these bets came in “within seconds” after the NFC championship odds were released.
