Ryan Gosling is “live from New York” tonight as the actor hosts this week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live.” The Oscar-nominated actor will promote his upcoming movie “Project Hail Mary,” which bows in theaters on March 20 and he’ll be joined by musical guests Gorillaz. The virtual band, led by Damon Albarn, is making their “SNL” debut and will perform songs from its upcoming album “The Mountain,” which came out Feb. 27.

Gosling has been making the promo rounds for his “SNL” appearance and recently surprised the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” audience by bringing out wife Eva Mendes for a special birthday serenade. Could Mendes make a surprise cameo on “SNL” as well? Viewers will have to tune in to find out.
